Dr. Sonika Sharma

I am an assistant Professor of Zoology with my PhD. research work focusing on gene expression studies in Hmox gene-targeted mice and their Phylogenetic analysis. My expertise included the handling and maintenance of knockout mice and study of their developmental biology. I am also well versed in many Molecular Biology techniques. In academics the subjects of my choice are Genetics, Physiology, Animal Biotechnology, Molecular Biology and Developmental biology. I have teaching experience of more than 12 years. I have been working with Drosophila since the year 2022 when me and Dr. Madhu re-established the Drosophila Resource centre Zoology Department, Daulat Ram College as centre co-ordinators. I have been teaching the Genetics and Developmental biology of Drosophila to undergraduate students for almost a decade now and was always fascinated with Drosophila as a model organism for research.
