Dr. Sharda Gautam

Recipient of the prestigious Paryavaran Champion Award from Wildlife Institute, Dehradun in 2025, Samaradhaka Samman from Delhi Sanskrit Academy four times (2012, 2015, 2016, and 2017). I was awarded 3rd Prize for Best Paper Presentation in National Conference by WAVES in 2013, and honoured with the prestigious S. Radhakrishnan Shiksha Samman by Parvatiya Lokvikas Samiti, J.N.U. in 2018.

I am a native of Uttar Pradesh and completed Matriculation & Intermediate from UP Board. A graduate of the University of Allahabad in 2004, I did my Post Graduation in Sanskrit from JNU in 2006 and subsequently completed my Ph.D from JNU in 2013. I also qualified UGC NET in 2005.

With 15 years of teaching experience, I served as Teacher In-Charge of the Department for sessions 2015-16 & 2020-21. I was nominated as SEC, AEC, VAC Coordinator in the sessions 2022-23 and 2023-24 at DRC and served as Convener of the Dramatic Society for 2021-22 & 2022-23. I was Convener of the Admission Help Desk Committee in 2023-24. I have also served as Examiner, Question Paper Setter, and been part of Answer Scripts Evaluation Committees many times. One scholar is pursuing Ph.D. under my supervision on the topic Vaishno Puran. I am also part of the editorial team for the book Lokmata Ahilya Bai Holkar.

I have authored 10 books, including 5 co-authored ones. I have published 30 research papers in Peer-Reviewed/UGC Listed Journals, and presented 57 papers in National and International Seminars. I have attended 19 workshops organized by various academies and participated in 37 conferences/seminars organized by different institutions. I have been invited as Resource Person (Mukhya Vakta, Vishist Vakta, Judge, etc.) in 28 conferences/seminars. I have also attended 20 FDPs and a 2-week online Refresher Course in Sanskrit (ID) organized by CPDHE (UGC-HRDC). I have been invited to judge various competitions, including at Bal Bhavan organised by Delhi Police.

Currently, I am leading the NAVDHARA project on Environment. I have delivered two lectures titled “Brahman Granthon ka Vishay Vastu” and “Brahman Granthon ka Mahatwa”, recorded by IGNOU for BA 1st-year students and broadcast on the Swayam Channel for the benefit of students. I have also served as NSS Convenor and Program Officer NSS for the last three years, leading many social service programmes. I have worked as Convener/Organizer in 18 Seminars/Workshops/Conferences, including the International Symposium on Mahabharata. I am also a Lifetime Member of AIOC, Pune.
