Dhara: Eco-Club
Dhara – The Eco Club of Daulat Ram College envisions fostering social consciousness among students about pressing environmental issues and promoting sustainable living practices. It is dedicated to promoting ecological awareness and sustainable practices. Its mission is to drive institutional focus on creating positive sustainability impacts.
Dhara serves as a green brigade of budding environmentalists, organizing a variety of impactful activities such as the Awareness Program on Safe Disposal of E-Waste, a dry cell collection drive, campaigns to reduce plastic waste, and initiatives like Hope of Energy and Biodiversity.
In 2024–25, Dhara undertook impactful initiatives to fight plastic consumption. To raise awareness, the longest plastic chain was created using single-use plastic bags, highlighting the impact of our plastic footprint. Additionally, a collection drive for hard plastics was conducted to emphasize the significance of plastic waste management and to educate the public on the principles of the three R’s—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
In collaboration with Panasonic Green Impact and Harit Umang, Dhara organized a Green Walkathon to encourage reduced plastic consumption on 28th February 2025, commemorating National Science Day.
Every year, Dhara conducts an inter-college fest: NAWAH. NAWAH 4.0 was held in April 2025. These efforts brought students together in support of a cleaner, greener future.
Dhara remains steadfast in its mission to nurture environmental responsibility within the college and the broader community.
